We know that the income for the Mughals was mostly from the taxes given by the poor peasants. They Mughals cannot directly come and collect the taxes right therefore they used to appoint the zamindars who will collect the taxes from the people and give it to them. The zamindars were the heads of the places which they were appointed by the Mughals. Therefore I conclude that the zamindars played a vital role in the Mughal administration.
