Under the systems of advances, the weavers were given loans to buy the raw materials for their production. Those who took the loans had to handover the cloth they produced to gomasthas. They could not take it to any other trader.
Recently weavers were happily took advances to earn more , in hope to earn more.
Earlier weavers had small plot of land which they cultivated along with weaving but now they devoted all their time in weaving along with their family members.
But son the relations between weavers and gomasthas got strained. Gomasthas began to treat poor weavers ruthlessly.
This spread disappointment among the entire weavers. They left villages and settled to new places.
