He preached against image worship and caste distinctions, and laid emphasis on the unity of God .According to him good deeds alone will be counted in God's court and all metaphysical discussions are useless. He also said " Religion consists not of wandering in foreign countries or in bathing at places of pilgrimage.Abide pure amidst the impurities at the world ; ThUS shall though find the way to religion "
