Hi friend!

Woad was a plant which was used to make cloth dye. It grew in the temperature regions. It was used as a substitute dye of Indigo as Indigo was very costly.

However, Woad didn't give as rich blue colour as Indigo used to give. The dye produced from Woad had a dull blue colour as compared to the blue colour that the dye produced from the Indigo plant gave.
