General Service Enlistment Act:

General Service Enlistment Act:In 1856,the General Service Enlistment Act was passed by the British East India Company. According to this Act, the Indian Sepoys have to travel overseas to far off land when required. But there was objections among the Hindus because rivers were considered as holy and it was against their religious custom to cross the river.

Post Office Act:

The Postal service system was introduced for the first time in India in 1854 by Lord Dalhousie .According to this act, a Director General was appointed to look after all the works of all the post offices in all Presidencies , same rate for postal letters, half a anna and postal stamps were introduced for the first time in India
