Mangal Pandey was killed by the British and from the death of Mangal Pandey the Revolt of 1857 started, Rani Laxmi Bai fought against the British in the Revolt of 1857 to save her kingdom of Jhansi because as per the Doctrine of Lapse their was no son of King Gangadhar Rao and Damodar Rao was adopted by them so Rani Laxmi Bai fought against them but she died in Gwalior while fighting with British Army.
