To break Mini’s unfounded fear, her father called her from inside the house. She came
and stood nervously, pressing against his body, and looking suspiciously at the
Kabuliwala and his bag. The Kabuliwala took out some raisins and apricots from
inside the bag and gave it to Mini, but she refused to take them and remained pressed
against her father’s knees with a redoubled suspicion. That was how their first
meeting ended.

Mini abruptly stopped her game and was shouting out to the kabuliwala when she saw the kabuliwala approached the house. However, Mini dashed inside and couldn't be found anywhere. She was scared of the kabuliwala and his bag, she was overwhelmed with fright. She believed that inside his huge bag were two or three children like her. Actually, Mini had a childish fear that the kabuliwala kidnapped and kept children in his bag.
The kabuliwala entered the narrator's doorway and greeted him with a smile. The narrator made some small purchases and as he was about to leave, he asked him about that little girl. The narrator had his daughter brought out so that she could get rid of her fear.
