It was a method by Lord Wellesley to subjugate Indian powers.According to this method:-
1-Permanent British troops were subjected permanently for the protection of Indian territory.
2-Indian ruler should keep a British official in his court.
3-He can not form any alliance with other Indian territory to attack on any other territory without the permission of British.
