The conflict between the Bengal nawabs and the East India Company started when the Nawabs refused to grant the Company concessions and demanded large tributes for the Company,s right to trade. The Nawabs also denied the Company any right to mint coins, and stopped it from extending its fortifications.

it took place in Bengal near the fortifications of trading of East India company because they refused to pay revenues and taxes to the then Bengal nawab Sirajdaullah and then he marched to the the fortifications with 30,000 soldiers and blockaded all English ships and officials.... then Robert Clive heard this and fought with the latter and won the war . This was the first major victory of East India company in india . This came to be known as battle of PLASSEY .
