During world war 2 British took army support from Indians. They promised that they will increase the money and decrease the tax they would give benefits to indians. After the war British didn’t so according to their promise, instead they introduced doctrine of lapse and subsidy alliance this was the reason for rowlat act

Answer:Despite much opposition, theRowlatt Act was passed in March 1919. The purpose of the act was to curb the growing nationalist upsurge in the country. Mahatma Gandhi, among other Indian leaders, was extremely critical of the Act and argued that not everyone should be punished in response to isolated political crimes.
