Gulliver was given the following conditions in exchange for his freedom:
1) That he would help the Lilliputians if war ever broke out.
2)He would deliver messages to the Kingdom of the Lilliputians.
3)He was not to leave Lilliput without a licence from them.
4)He was to help in construction and buildings that were to take place.
5)He was also to survey the surrounding land.

In return for this, Gulliver would be granted his freedom and be provided with food and drink, even though the amount of food that he would consume could cater for 1,724 Lilliputians.
