Alexander Kerenskii was the leader of the menshevik party and represented a minority group. He thought that the party should be open to all.
There was severe conflict between Kerenskii's govt. and the Bolsheviks whose leader was Vladimir Lenin.
In September,he began discussions for an uprising against the provisional govt.
On 16 Oct. 1917 Lenin persuaded the Petrograd Soviet to a socialist seizure of power. A military revolutionary committee was appointed by the Soviet Union under Leon Trotskii to organise the seizure.
