The main demands of Narmada bachao andolan was resettlement and rehabilitation of those displaced by the construction of dams.

EXPLANATION:

        Narmada bachao andolan is a people’s movement started in 1985. The andolan was to people’s protest against the construction of large dams on Narmada River along the districts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.

        The construction of dam would result in displacement of the village community living nearby and would also disturb the ecology of the area. Thus, people protested against the project and demanded for settlement of the people displaced by the dam, preservation of ecology, protection of the rights of the people living in that area.
