Answer:

The negatives are pretty much the oppose of the above. Some nations that have too much diversity of ethnic, religious, and/or political beliefs have a harder time working together. When nations become too small in size, their economic power becomes weaker. Nations that are ruled in a dictatorship, oftentimes, find an extreme in economic class with a few rich oligarchs and a mass of poor. Nations can become polarized within and with other nations if their identity with ethnic, economic, or political will are too different.

Explanation:

IF YOU WANT THERE ARE ALSO SOME DISADVANTAGES

Having said that, the positives are: Citizens identity to a country, belonging to a group or tribe. Where ethnic identity is dominant, belonging to people of the same race, especially if religious and political beliefs are the mix. Nations allow a group of people to negotiate, communicate, and interface with other groups as a bigger entity, normally bigger is better. Nations allow for a governance structure that is more efficient than smaller or singular participation. Nations also give a sense of pride if the nation excels. Most people like to identify with a tribe and the ‘nation’ identification suffices as a surrogate or replacement for that idea.
