during the time of British government there was a humorous redcat the cartridges of the gun are made by the the fat of cow and pig. please created in widespread anger in both communities of Hindus and Muslims as Hindu termed as sacred and for Muslims pig was considered as unclean so they neglected to use the cartridges and on the further repression it becomes an important cause of of revolt of 1857.
