Explanation:
UAE in the Neolithic Age
- This time was first proven by the human presence in the UAE area. Remains of Bedouin were discovered. These groups prospered in the hunting and collection of plants. In the Jebel Al Buhais in Sharjah and in the islands of Marawah & Dalma in Abu Dhabi several mass grave cases were also found which show tools and spearheads.
- During this period Pottery emerged, as seen by many discoveries made in Sharjah, Ras al Khaimah, Abu Dhabi and Umm al-Qwain. These finds are known to come from the so called Ubaid phase of the Neolithic era and come from the 6th century before Christ.
UAE in the Early Bronze Age
- This time is characterised by the booming copper industry. Various small and hive-shaped tombs have been found in several countries. Ruins of an immense farm settlement in the Al Ain area show that people made a living by planting maize and wheat crops.
- Evidences of mounds, numerous circle graves and several mass graves were found at the site of Umm al-Nar. Near these tombs there were also remains of a settlement with stone houses and burial instruments-like artefacts. Also known are additional cooking instruments. All this means that the houses date back to the same tomb.
- There was an archaeological discovery of a house with seven rectangular rooms. Broad utensils, fish, cow bones, camels, turtles, & copper instruments were found in the rot pottery. Such artefacts indicate that people often relied for their lives on fishing.
