What were the limitations of newland's law of octaves ? State mendeleev's periodic law.

He thought only 56 elements will be discovered.
And his law was only working till Calcium
He put elements like chroline and bromine, flourine in one box to match the properties
And iron was not put with cobalt and nickel but was placed far away.

The limitations of Newlands' law of octaves are:
1) this was only applicable for lighter elements.
2) after calcium, every 8th element didn't have similar properties as that of the first one.
3) he also declared that there were only 56 elements in nature and that no other element would be discovered. But this became untrue as many effluents were discovered later.

The periodic law states that the periodic functions of the elements are the properties of their atomic masses.
