Bhakthi is the feeling of attraction or devotion or dedication towards the God.  God is the one superhuman soul that the devotee believes in.  Bhakt or devotee prays to God regularly. Keeps his (male God) or her (feminine Goddess)  in his heart and works towards erasing his past sins and does good deeds to get closer to the God.

God is supposed to test the devotion, loyalty and trust of the devotee from time to time.  When it is the right time, God gives mokha or freedom from all Earthly bondings and duties.

True Devotees are supposed to have powers of being able to call and make God appear for the good of people.  When Devotees are in trouble, God directly or indirectly helps them get over the hurdle.  Devotees are supposed to have pure heart and soul.
