Answer:-

Following are the major teachings of Bhagwan Mahavira:

Do unto others as you would like to be done by. Live and allow others to live; hurt no one; life is dear to all living-beings.

Speak the truth which is pleasant and not harmful to others. Better to remain silent if the truth is likely to cause pain, hurt anyone or result in death of any living-being.

Be honest in all dealings; do not cheat or employ immoral means to grab/acquire the property/wealth of others.

Do not have physical relationship with anyone other than your spouse. Exercise restraint in the relationship with your spouse.

Don’t accumulate if you do not need. The excess of wealth in your

hands is for the society; give it back to the society.

Control your desires; avoid attachment to worldly possessions.

Avoid passions (anger, greed, ego, deceipt) as much as possible. These are our real enemies and impediment to salvation. Fight with these enemies rather than fighting with external foes. It is better to win over self than to win over a million enemies.

Be equanimous in all situations; in happiness and suffering, in joy and grief.

Remember that there is no escape from karma. Karma follow the doer (life after life). All our actions (of mind, speech and body) should be geared to avoid attracting new karmas.

Recognise the power of your soul; though karma are very powerful and have been shrouding our soul since ages, our soul has the power to shed all karma and attain moksha.Make ‘salvation’ the chief object of your life if you want to get rid of the miseries; every soul has the power to attain moksha.

Mahavira’s teachings reflect the internal beauty, power and harmony of the soul. He taught the idea of supremacy of human life and stressed the importance of the positive attitude of life.

Mahavira said that, "A living body is not merely an integration of limbs and flesh but it is the abode of the soul which potentially has perfect perception (anant-darshana), perfect knowledge (anant-gyan), perfect power (anant-virya), and perfect bliss (anant-sukha).
