Kheda district is a name of a district in Gujrat state in India. Kheda is the headquarter of the district. This place is basically famous for its Tobacco farming. During the British rule this place was military administration district.
Kheda Styagraha (1918) was organized by Mahatma Gandhi. It was one of the major revolt happened during the Independence movement. It was the third movement done by Gandhi after Chaparan Movement. The common people of Kheda was unable to pay high taxes to the Britishers due to the failure of crops and plague disease.
