- The main political divisions of india before independence namely Bombay Madras, Calcutta, Bengal.
- British India changes their preferences in the provincial division of India and thus the above-mentioned provinces were many times merged to other provinces with time.
- There is a "princely state ruled" by the rulers who accept the British rules for example Hyderabad and Jammu and Kashmir.
