The forest at their best are called reserved. They are reserved so people can not take anything from it. no timber, no wood. If they need to they can get it from the village forests

Provisions of Forest Act of 1878-
!) The 1878 Forest Act divided the forests into three categories. These were reserved forests, protected forests and village forests.
2) The best of all these three were known as the reserved forests.
3) Villagers were not allowed to take anything from these forests, even for their own use. For any kind of building construction work or wood for fuel can be taken only from the protected or village forests.
