Hi friend,
In the chapter the Bishop's candlesticks Bishop was a extremely kind, generous and charitable , so much so that he cannot bear anyone suffering and goes out of his way to believe the sufferings of people around him.
He is an ideal priest. Having full faith in the goodness of human heart ,he strongly believes that negative aspects are short lived and love ,affection , and goodness can transform even a criminal into a honest person.
Hope this helped u...

Bishop is the main character of the drama "The Bishop's Candelsticks" written by Norman Mckinell.
Bishop-
Bishop was a very kind and generous person who was always ready to help other people. He was also very compassionate and had a very benevolent nature. He had a sister "Persome" who loved his brother Bishop very much and also scolded him for always helping others.Unlike Persome Bishop was not at all materialistic,in fact he was an altruist.Even though Bishop knew that people took undue advantages of him though he didn't hesitate to help them.People mattered more to him than other things. He was possessed to the silver candlesticks that were given to him by his mother when she was on her death bed.The Bishop changed the convict "Jean Valjean" into a new and wise person.
