The reason for the children's mother to object to the rabbit being brought were the mother did not like the little rabbit because she hated the tragedy of dead pets and she thought the rabbit would die and there would be an another outcry in the family. Again, she reminded him of the other little wild animal she had brought which had sulked and refused to live and brought storms of tears and trouble in the house.
