Steps taken by Birsa to reform tribal society:
1. He urged his the tribal people to purify themselves. He asked them to give up drinking liquor.
2. He asked them to stop believing in witchcraft and sorcery.
3. He wanted a golden age for them where there would be no outside forces like the missionaries, Hindu landlords, moneylenders, traders and the Europeans.
4. He asked them not to kill one another and live an honest life.
5. He wanted them to construct embankments, tap natural springs, plant trees and orchards and practise cultivation to earn their living.
