September 1938 – Germany reclaims Sudetenland. With 3 million Germans living in this area of Czechoslovakia, Hitler demanded it be returned to Germany. At the Munich agreement, Britain, France and Italy agreed, on the condition that this would be Germany's final claim for territory in Europe.
