'The Fairy Queen' is an epic poem written by Edmund Spenser. One of the longest poems written in English language, it contains a number of themes, including

* Allegory of virtues, like justice, courtesy, friendship, chastity, etc.

* Politics

* Religion

* Archetypal patterns

* Symbolism

* Allusions

Although it is a work of allegory, it is often read as a praise for Queen Elizabeth I.
