In older times, we had the system of Landlords. Landlord system, though was bad for the poor peasants and tenants but was very powerful. They had full control over their land and they applied various strategies to gain back the land.

» Wrong methods adopted by landlords to retain their lands ::

Use of Force :

Landlords used force and local police by bribing or used the local mób group to evict tenants. Usually by new policies of government, landlords had to give their lands to poor tenants and workers. In order to remove those workers and gain back the lands, they used to pressurize the workers using physical violence and domination. They used to hárass them and often beat them so that they themselves gave back the lands.

Fake documents and papers :

Poor tenants though had land to cultivate but they usually didn't have the money to cultivate crops. They used their land as mortage to get loan from rich landlords. These poor tenants weren't educated thus they put their finger stamp on which ever paper they were asked by landlords. And landlords used false techniques by the use of contracts and then gained land from the tenants.

Bonded Labours :

Bonded Labour system is abolished now but in rural villages it is still practised now. Usually when tenants weren't able to return loans to the landlords they had to becomd bonded labours of landlords. Bonded labour was the term used to signify labour by bonds. And thus they had become bonded labours of the landlords and give their land forcefully to the landlords.
