the body is thrown with a velocity say u(initial) ..it has an acceleration due to gravity in downwards direction.It reaches maximum height say h in time say t...then it falls back (travels same distance h same acceleration in the same direction downwards due to gravity) thus it takes same time t to land from the top point at height h to ground...So ratio of time to go up : time to go down = 1:1 ..and also magnitude of instantaneous velocity is same for that instant of both the journeys (means v at 2nd second of upward journey= v at 2 nd second of downward journey
