When an ant bites, it injects acid in the body. This causes itching and pain at that region.

Calamine solution is basic in nature. So, applying it on that area will give relief from all such pain and itching.

Actually, their neutralisation reaction occurs where which base and acid neutralises each others effect.

When an ant bites, it injects the acidic liquid into the skin.

The effect of the sting can be neutralised by rubbing calamine solution, which cantains zinc carbonate.
