Total C.P. of Horse and carriage = 3000.

SP of these two = 102% of 3000 = 3060.

Let C.P. of Horse was X and Carriage was Y.

∴ X + Y = 3000.

⇒ Y = 3000 - X -------------------- (i)

S.P. of the Horse = 120% of X = 1.2X

S.P. of the carriage = 90% of Y = 0.90Y.

Total SP = 3060

1.2X + 0.90Y = 3060

Using Equation (i)

1.2X + 0.90 * (3000 - X) = 3060

1.2X + 2700- 0.90 = 3060

0.3X = 3060 - 2700

0.3X = 360

X = 360/0.3

= Rs. 1200

So, the Cost Price of the Horse = Rs. 1200
