No sooner is followed by 'did'
example:No sooner did he reached the station the train left.
example:No sooner did he reached the station the train left.

in this example, is it necessary to add any word like "than". And can we use "had" instead of "did" For example..: No sooner did/had he reached the station than the train left.
see if u r using had its necessary to use 'than'
see if u r using had its necessary to use 'than' .As far as the sentence your sentence is concerned u r going on a right track...possibilities are many, but choosing the appropriate word is really important...
