Given data :

Principal amount P = Rs. 2500

Time Period T = 3 years

Rate of Interest R = 12% per annum

To find :

Compound Interest after 3 years CI = ?

Formulae using :

Amount Accumulated A =  P( 1 + \frac{r}{100})^{T}

Compound Interest = Amount Accumulated- Principal amount

Solution :

As the Principal amount, time period and the rate of interest are given,

Amount Accumulated A =  P( 1 + \frac{r}{100})^{T}

                                        = 2500( 1 + \frac{12}{100})^{3}

                                        = 2500( 1 + \frac{3}{25})^{3}

                                        = 2500( \frac{25+3}{25})^{3}

                                        = 2500( \frac{28}{25})^{3}

                                        = 2500 ( 1.12 )³

                                        = 2500 x 1.404928

                                        = 3512.32

Therefore, the total amount accumulated for three years = Rs. 3512.32

Compound Interest = Amount Accumulated - Principal amount

                                = 3512.32 - 2500

                                = 1012.32

So, Compound Interest = Rs. 1012.32

Therefore, the Compound interest on Rs. 2500 after 3 years at the interest of 12% per annum is Rs. 1012.32
