The natural ecosystem is made up of exhaustible resources. The ecosystem consists of living organisms and non-living things such as air, water, soil, minerals etc.

Mankind must ensure that these resources are tapped into, only to meet the prudent needs of human race and that they are not wasted. Care must also be exercised in maintaining these resources – water bodies should be maintained, plastic dumping and burning must be stopped. Forest covers should be preserved as it helps in giving us rainfall, stops soil erosion, provides shelter to animals etc.

Indiscriminate mining causes irreversible pollution.

Survival of life on earth depends on prudent use of its resources.

The consequences of misusing the natural ecosystem.

Explanation:

  • There are various consequences of misusing the natural ecosystem as increased flooding due to erosion of soil. Lack of oxygen in the lakes or river water destroys the growth and development of marine organisms.
  • Melting of ice caps can trigger floods and rising the global water levels and thus destroying the coastal lands.  Destruction of the food chains due to the loss of biodiversity.
  • Global warming and climate are itself a large scale consequence that earth is facing due to the overexploitation and overutilization of forest lands and earth groundwater resources release of dangerous gases and dumping of wastes.
