Meiotic products of the somatic cell has 20 picograms of DNA, i.e the haploid cell content is 20 picograms.
Thus the normal non-dividing somatic cell being diploid in nature will have 40 picograms of DNA.
In the cell cycle the G2 phase precedes the, S-phase, the phase of the cell cycle during which the DNA replicates. Thus in the G2 phase the DNA content of the cell will be doubled. Hence the cell will contain 80 picograms of DNA.
