The direction of magnetic field lines around a conductor depends upon the shape of the conductor if its a straight conductor magnetic lines outside would be North to South and inside south to North.It can be find out by Maxwell's Right hand rule

The direction of magnetic field line is given by maxwell right hand grip rule...Imagine u are holding a current carrying cunductor in your right hand the thumb finger will be the direction of magnetic field.......hope you understand
