Its an eclipse. For estimation take circle. Radius is ever distance between sun and earth. It takes one year for one revolution, i.e to travel 2*pi*r
Triple the radius. Distance is 2*pi*3r=> 3*(2*pi*r)
It takes 3 years approximately.
But then again, the calendars will have 1095 days a year because Almost all the factors we divide our years into like climate, depend on sun Moon and earth positions.
