The position of the point P(3,2) at condition (i) will be (3,-2), (ii) (-6,2) and (iii) (-2,-3).

  • The x-coordinate of a point is called abscissa and the y-coordinate is called ordinate. The point P is denoted as P ( abscissa, ordinate ).
  • Now, when the ordinate is multiplied by (-1) it becomes (3, -2), when the abscissa is multiplied by (-2) it becomes (-6,2)
  • Now, when the abscissa and ordinate both are added to (-5) the point P(3,2), the point becomes (-2,-3).
