Hi...

Given -

Force = 144 N

Area = 12 cm^2 = 12 × 10 ^ -4m^2

We know Pressure(p)=Force (F)/ Area(A).

Thus p = 144 / 12 * 10 ^4

Thus ; p = 120000 pascals..

Hope this helps u!!

Answer : Pressure exerted, P = 30 kPa

Explanation :

It is given that,

Force acting due to wight of the table, F=144\ N

Area of each leg is, A=12\ cm^2=0.0012\ m^2

Area of 4 legs, A=0.0012\ m^2\times4=0.0048\ m^2

Pressure is defined as the force acting per unit area.

P=\dfrac{144\ N}{0.0048\ m^2}

P=30000\ Pa

or

P=30\ kPa

Hence, this is the required solution.
