What will be the velocity of a car be after 5 seconds of applying the brakes if it was initially moving with a velocity of 20 meters per seconds and the brakes were applied to decelerate it at a rate of 2 meters per second squared

Given,

v₀=20 meters per second

t = 5 seconds

a= -2 meters² per second

We know that

⇒v = v₀ + at

⇒ v=20-(2×5)

⇒v=20-10

⇒v=10      

Therefore velocity of a car will be 10m/s
