Answer:

i)When raisins are kept in a hypertonic solution, then exosmosis will occur, i.e., water will move out from raisins from lower solute concentration to higher solute concentration through raisin covering. Due to this, raisins will shrink.

ii)On adding salt, the external medium is made hypertonic, i.e., concentration of water is lowered as compared to the concentration of water inside the cell. Thus, water is released from the vegetables due to exosmosis (water molecules goes out of the cell resulting in shrinkage of cell).

iii) Hypotonic solution: When a cell (dry raisin) is dropped in water, the cell has a less water concentration than the medium in which it is kept. The water molecules will flow into the cell, and it will swell up or even can burst as in case of animal cells. Such a solution is called hypotonic solution. This is Endosmosis.
