If a plant cell is placed in a hypertonic solution , the plant cell loses water. pressure decreases to the point where the protoplasm of the cell peels away from the cell wall, leaving gaps between the cell wall and the membrane and making the plant cell shrink and crumple.
2. The effects of hypertonic solution in animal cell. Contain higher concentration of solutes and less of water than a cell. Since the concentration of water is higher within the cell, there is a net movement of water from inside to outside of the cell.
