what will happen if both crops in mixed crop is similar

a particular crop needs particulr amount of resources vitamins minerals etc.. if u crop a dis simmilar crop in mixed crop one is needed with low amount of resources nd another will need with high resources so.. we sholud not keep same crop in mixed crop
if we do like this its harvest may be less
