If cells do not have the ability of permeability then the cells won't be able to absorb water or anything through the membranes and the cell wall will dry up and die. There are many things that depend on it such as osmosis and concentration level of sodium with other material.

If the cell membrane loses it's permeability it will result in the complete halt of pinocytosis and phagocytosis which will render protozoans like Amoeba extinct as phagocytosis is one of their main ways of obtaining food
