If ciliary muscles are not working properly it can lead to the following problems with an eye:

  • The inefficiency of ciliary muscles can lead to eye vision disorders and loss of vision in certain cases.
  • The contraction and relaxation activity of ciliary muscles is responsible for controlling the amount of light entering the lens of an eye.
  • Ciliary muscles contract and increase the curvature of the lens which allows seeing nearby objects.
  • It relaxes and decreases the curvature of the lens to enable the clear vision of distant objects.
  • In this way, it controls the amount of light entering an eye.
  • Therefore, if ciliary muscles do not work effectively then light entering is not controlled causing damage to eye lenses.
