Nephron usually does the work of removing nitrogenous waste from body by filtering them.they are the basic filtration units .if nephron is cut then nitrogenous waste will be accumulated in the body and the person will die as the kidney wont function. As CO2 is removed from blood in the lungs similarly urea or uric acid is removed in kidneys.nephrons are vital for survival.or else it leads to accumulation of poisonous wastes in body.in case of kidney failure artificial kidney can be used.it can be done through dialysis or the patient have to undergo kidney transplantation.
