See,most probably the crop will get damaged. Fertilizer is added only when the plant is not getting the required nutrients from the soil. It is important to add fertilizer cause not every plant gets the required nutrient.

What will happen if excess amount of fertilizer is added to green grass lawn?

Answers

Excess amount of fertilizers are very harmful for the crops:

# If more amount of fertilizers are added,it changes the suitable pH range of soil, which will ultimately lead to the death of plant.

# If excess amount of fertilizers are put in soil,it refuses the water concentration in the soil.. so what ?

If water concentration of soil is less than that of the roots then osmosis will take place. i.e water will flow from the root tips to the soil, which will cause water scarcity in the plant body.

OSMOSIS :Flow of water from its higher concentration to its lower concentration, through a semi permeable membrane.

In this condition water will flow out of the roots to the soil (which is a wastage of water)
