If only one crop is grown rapidly in a soil the soil will lose all its nutrients and we won't be able to grow more crops in it..
The soil will also get nitrogen deficiency and no crops will be able to get proper nutrients to grow.
The soil will also lose all its minerals..

So it is necessary for us to do crop rotation or grow leguminous plants in soil to maintain proper Minerals and nutrients in it....
