●A ray of light when falls on a glass slab perpendicularly it falls at an angle of ninety degree.
●It strikes the interface along the normal.
●As a result the light ray DOES NOT suffer refraction and passes straight in the glass medium.

the line perpendicular to the reflecting / refraccting material is the normal line..so if ray enters perpendicularly to the glass slab then it is coinciding with normal hence making it to move past the glass slab undeviated..
