If the pressure is reduced on the solid carbon dioxide the temperature will drop and the liquid carbon dioxide will solidify into snow-like substance. This can be seen under the temperature of -78ºC.

Explanation:

  • The solid carbon dioxide is called as dry ice. The process of formation of dry ice is known as sublimation process.
  • The another example of the gas is the liquid nitrogen which can also be converted into dry form.
